Submitted proposals and implemented and supervised government-sponsored research and development projects for 10 Gb/s fiber-optic homodyne receiver with APD front-end, as well as for a 50 dBm OIP3 highly-linear photodiode. Worked on miniaturized Gaussian-to-tophat optical beam reshaper for photodiode modules.

 

Supervised a three-engineer group for these projects.

 

03/03-03/06            Senior Optical Systems Engineer

 

Submitted proposals and implemented and supervised government-sponsored research and development projects for 28 GHz monolithic transmitter modules, W-band RF monolithic photonic links, 2 to 18 GHz and 23 GHz Electroabsorption Modulator,10 Gb/s fiber-optic heterodyne receiver .

 

Successfully managed and implemented the completion of a 10 Gb/s balanced coherent optical photoreceiver. This system achieved sensitivity of – 31 dBm in an unpreamplified 1550 nm system. 

 

Supervised a five person production staff responsible for fabricating Discovery’s commercial products, averaging over $100,000 per month in commercial sales.
